Brandy Simon Brighter Days Memorial Scholarship
The Brandy Simon Brighter Days Memorial Scholarship was established to honour the memory of Brandy Simon, who was tragically killed in a car accident on her way home from the ski hill on January 22, 2022. She was just 16 years old. Born in the daylight on the shortest day of the year, Brandy brought light to the world. She was the type of kid who’s laugh could brighten your whole day and to those who had the pleasure to know her she was truly a ray of sunshine.
Each year $2500 will be awarded to a student at Holy Trinity School to assist with the costs of attending a post secondary school of their choice. The scholarship will be awarded to a student who has persevered through hardship, and has continued to show up and work hard at school even when it was not easy. To be eligible this student must be accepted into a post secondary program. Additionally applicants will be required to submit an essay about the obstacles they have faced to finish high school and how receiving this funding will help them succeed.
The Brandy Simon Brighter Days Memorial Scholarship is an out right grant, and though recipients are under no obligation to make repayment it is hoped that once graduated and engaged in a productive career they will help honor Brandy’s memory by bringing Brighter Days to future students.
