Setting up an endowment fund is easy and can be done over time — up to 10 years! And, WBCF can accept a wide variety of donations such as real estate; life insurance; stocks; bequests; and of course monetary donations.
Community Fund
WBCF Community Fund supports registered charities and qualified donees working within Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo.
Donor Advised or Field of Interest
Donors can choose a field of interest such as poverty; health & wellness; youth & family supports; etc. Each year, the WBCF Granting Committee incorporates the donor’s wishes within the decision making process of setting the Community Grants target areas.
Donor Designated
Donors may wish to establish a fund in which the granting goes directly to a social profit(s) each year.
Agency Funds
A social profit can create an endowment fund specific to their organization’s purpose. Once the endowment is established, the granting dollars from this fund go directly to the social profit. And, as the fund grows, the grant funding to the organization increases. Many social profits use this for sustainable operational funding.
