Arts Council Wood Buffalo Fund
THE ARTS MATTER AND CONTRIBUTE IN MEANINGFUL WAYS
Arts and Culture are the lifeblood of a vibrant society
Arts Council Wood Buffalo (ACWB) is embarking on a new initiative to purchase the historic Landmark Cinema building and convert it into an Arts Incubator — a purpose-built space designed to house artist studios, performance spaces, a culinary arts teaching kitchen, festival programming and more. This space is called Arts Inc — The Spot for Creativity.
This arts incubation project will address gaps in arts infrastructure in the region, while providing a place for creatives, all residents, and visitors to our region to have broad opportunities for engagement with the arts. Arts Inc will run as a social enterprise, contributing to Arts Council’s future sustainability, while supporting amateur to professional artists. The Incubator will also welcome visitors into the centre to witness and engage in the creative process.
SUPPORTING THE COMMUNITY THROUGH THE ARTS
ACWB was established in 2012 in Fort McMurray, AB, to raise the profile of the arts in the Wood Buffalo region. Since then, the organization has grown exponentially through strategic planning and focused community engagement.
ACWB is a non-profit society and charitable organization dedicated to the growth and success of the arts. We believe the arts are integral to a remarkable quality of life and our unique programs, services, and partnerships all work towards achieving our dynamic mission and vision.
Providing a gift to this Fund will enhance the sustainability of Arts Council by supporting the Arts Inc initiative and ongoing programs such as Artist in Residency, Seniors & the Art of Conversation, the Buffys / Wood Buffalo Excellence in Arts Awards, and the Rural Arts Support Program.
For large gifts (including stocks, life insurance, property, etc.) please email Gaylene Weidlich or phone 780-598-2050 for a confidential donor conversation.
