WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR COMMUNITY GRANTS?
Your non-profit organization is eligible to apply for a WBCF community grant if you serve the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo, including Fort McMurray, Anzac, Conklin, Janvier, Draper, Fort Chipewyan, Fort Fitzgerald, Fort McKay and Gregoire Lake. Your organization must also have a charitable registration number from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) or be considered a qualified donee by the CRA.
Applicants must have Charitable or Qualified Donee status under the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). If you are not a registered charity but wish to apply for funding, you can consider the following options:
Make a formal application to CRA to become a registered charity or a qualified donee. Click here for more details.
Establish a written partnership with a registered charity that would apply for funds for the proposed project. CRA recommends that the relationship between the registered charity and the non-charitable organization be formalized and documented. Click here to visit CRA’s website for more details.
Contact the Executive Director by email ( office@wbcfoundation.ca ) to set up a time to discuss the online application process and eligibility requirements.
